Elm Ram Raid Accused Acquitted

A man who was charged with burglary at the Elm clothing shop in Burford has been acquitted. Three men ram-raided the shop on Christmas Eve 2018 and stole piles of clothing. They were caught on CCTV breaking down the door of the shop. Sean Lewis, whose address was given as being at a caravan site at Evesham, was the only person arrested. However on 9 January at Oxford Crown Court the prosecution accepted that they did not have any evidence to put forward against him and he was acquitted. It is not known whether the police are making any further enquiries.
