The Mayor of Burford, John White, announced at his Christmas party on 13 December that the council has reached its target of raising £150,000 to meet the costs involved in imposing a ban on vehicles of over 7.5 tonnes on Burford Hill and High Street. This will cover the costs of signs and cameras to enforce the ban together with running costs over the 18 month trial period. At the end of that period the results will be reviewed and OCC will decide whether to make the ban permanent.
He also reported that progress is being made towards imposing a 20mph speed limit throughout Burford.
