On 4 June we reported that a youGov poll showed that the Conservatives were leading in the contest for Witney in the general election, with 37% support compared with 30% for the Liberal Democrats.
Another poll published two days ago is now showing the reverse. A poll carried out by Survation for the tactical voting website Best for Britain says that the figures for Witney are as follows:
Liberal Democrat 38.26%
Conservative 28.5%
Labour 24.11%
Reform UK 7.26
Green 0.65%
Polling experts always say that it is a mistake to put too much faith in one poll and there is a significant margin of error in polls. And politicians will tell you that the only poll that matters is the one on 4 July.
