Where The Bridge leads...

We reported on X/Twitter on Sunday evening that a robbery at Delanns Jewels a few hours before and followed it up on this website on Wednesday. Today (Friday) the Daily Mail, described on Yes, Minister as the newspaper read by the wives of the people who run the country, has run the story. A piece by Richard Eden reports that "more than £1m of equestrian-themed jewels were stolen in the 'terrifying' incident" and that staff were held up at gunpoint.

The newspaper says that Delanns "trades from a shop in Burford, a picturesque town in Oxfordshire near the homes of famous figures such as Jeremy Clarkson and Kate Moss." We prefer to think that their homes are near us. After all, Burford has been here a lot longer.
